Meet our Holistic Counsellor
I come from roots that were largely connected to the earth due to being raised on a farm. These roots led me to appreciate the land that we walk on and all that comes from it, as I grew up and became educated in history I also learned how to acknowledge the pain the land holds due to past experiences. In my own journey towards holistic knowledge, I have learned that much like the land, all of the things that we have experienced can be held in our body and inform our current behaviours. As I have learned the value of what our earth can provide and the parallels between our bodies and the land, I began to engage in pieces of spirituality aligned with this. Crystals, herbs, Tarot, and Elder Futhark Runes became an early and continuing passion in my life. Mental Health and Psychology became a passion for me as I began working with individuals impacted by severe and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, and victims of crime. In moving through the world of psychology, the pieces of myself mentioned above stuck with me as I learned more about the science of our mind, body, and emotions. All of this together has created a new passion for incorporating these pieces of spirituality and psychology together to encourage holistic healing for others.

Why Choose Mossy Moon?
I recognize that all of our experiences have worked to build the unique beings that we are today. Our relationships, previous experiences, and current circumstances are the building blocks for our success and our areas of growth. I utilize Transactional Analysis, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness to allow the collaborative exploration of the root of your presenting concerns. Exploration of the entirety of our human experience can often lead to a holistic understanding of what could be contributing to our current desired growth. This exploration can, at times, come with deep emotions which can be intense enough to cause dysregulation. Due to this I offer an addition of grounding techniques that can be explored in session depending on your interest, these can often include crystals, essential oils, incense, physical container exercises, breathing, and mindfulness strategies. I also encourage individuals that I work with to bring along inanimate items that can assist them in regulation or comfort such as fidgets, blankets, or stuffed toys!
